Paper installation

The idea for the work came to my mind on the very last day of my stay in Warsaw, after spending two weeks in the Polin Museum. Which overlooks the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes, made by Nathan Report in 1948.

I last saw it in 2000 during my visit to Poland as a youth guide for the „Hashomer Hatzair” Movement, the historical connection is clear. I think my work symbolizes how our own memory, private and shared can be changed, adjusted, sometimes manipulated. Working on the different pieces got me thinking about the ever-changing fragments of life, politics and commemoration. It says, „Watch out of framed memory”. It also resembles a puzzle game played by children. Which is sometimes how the world seems to me.
